People Get Ready

Almost as impressive as the polls which show (in numbers and in answers to questions) that the electorate no longer buys the Chaotic bullshit, and the persistent local protests on issues that are being seen with clarity, is the evidence of skilled and widespread preparations being made to counter any Chaos efforts to subvert the elections and undermine the votes any more than they already have.  The theme of all of these might well be: won't get fooled again.

Several national organizations as well as lawyers and election officials in key localities have organized, war gamed and prepared legal challenges to any Chaos attempts to interfere with voters and voting on the last day of this election, as well as before and long after.

Even more organizations on every level are involved in getting out the vote and making sure the votes are counted.  Today the Interfaith Alliance officially launched its The Vote is Sacred bus tour, beginning in Omaha and proceeding east to Maine, then south and west to Texas, Arizona and southern California. (It actually already had events in Iowa.) At every stop they have events in cooperation with local organizations, especially churches and faith groups but also university and civil society organizations, to get out the vote (and in some places where voting has begun, to do it on the spot), as well as to train volunteers to meet threats to voting.

They bring attention to local efforts where there are the greatest threats to voting, as a moral issue. This is truly an interfaith organization--not just an amalgamation of  Protestant sects with a few token Catholics and Jews, but a group that includes Muslims, Sikhs and other representatives of religions and traditions practiced by voters in places they will visit on this tour.  And when this organization uses the word "sacred," they mean it.

The day before, five Members of Congress participated in a shadow hearing to explore ways in which Chaos minions may try to cheat.  Even though it is impractical if not impossible for them to intervene at every polling place, and even though early voting and voting by mail banks a lot of votes before the final election day, many still expect some spot interventions at key precincts, a lot of propaganda and some attempts to use the Injustice Department and other agencies to challenge or confiscate votes, or later on to refuse to accept results.

But they won't have the element of surprise, and they won't have more than a small minority that won't see through their efforts to cheat.  Still, the more people who are aware of what might happen, who vote early and see their votes counted, and know how to overcome these efforts that threaten the basis of the American system, the better.  "People get ready, there's a train a-coming."
