National media has been all but silent about this, but pledges of participation are growing: National Shutdown Day on Friday January 30. Similar to the Minnesota general strike last Friday, this time it is a national in scope: no work, no school, no shopping, as a protest against federal thugs and murderers that everyone's taxes are paying for.
This is to be followed on Saturday January 31 by marches calling for ICE OUT OF EVERYWHERE. Both are organized by Fifty Fifty One. Two notable features: the organizing and especially the call to participate has been happening all week online, specifically through social media. And it seems to be mobilizing young people to a greater extent than before.
Businesses in Denver, Los Angeles county, Madison (Wisc.), New York City, San Antonio, Connecticut, Las Vegas, Eugene (OR), Phoenix, Utah and the California Bay Area are among those announcing they will shut down on Friday in protest.
On Thursday, the prestigious Pew Research Center poll announced its findings of a survey conducted this past week. King Chaos has a 37% approval rating, with 61% disapproving. A majority-- 51% --believe he is not mentally fit to be President, and 60% don't believe he acts ethically in office.
