Reprieve?
I got a birthday card from my niece Megan, now in college. On the front is a black and white photo of a boy, who looks a lot like I did at 7 or so, in a drawn color Superman outfit. The card's message: "You're always on the right side of that fine line between cool and dorky."
Phew. Another birthday passed without edging into complete irrelevance. Thanks, Megan.
